Processing of a front door section
System solutions | Mechanical and plant engineering
Raptor, our robot-based manufacturing cell in action during the full machining of a front door section - from raw material to final contour. The door element features a PU foam core and PVC layers, as com-monly used in industrial door production.Raptor features a multifunctional robotic head with dual flanges, a quick-change interface for efficient tool switching, and integrated internal transmission of electrical, fluid, and pneumatic power - including data and signal systems. The process begins with exact outer contouring using a joiner cutter, followed by a precise cut-out using an end mill. The removed section is automatically repositioned by a vacuum gripper. The rebate in the cut-out area is milled, before the worktable rotates back into the unloading position and the finished workpiece is removed manually.
